Amazon on Fire

You will have heard by now that Amazon has launched the Kindle Fire – a 7″ colour tablet. So, who or what is this aimed at?free data recovery on iPhone

They are certainly not trying to compete with the iPad – the Fire is less than half the price and it does not come with dozens of applications. It seems that the main benefactors will be those Amazon customers who wish to take advantage of Amazon’s huge content services – books, music and movies. Plus you can shop online at any time.

I do like Amazon – they provide excellent service, and while their prices are not always the lowest, they do provide a wide range of items. Can’t say I’m not tempted…

However, where does this leave the rest of the tablet pack? Well Apple have the high end market sown up already – and now Amazon have the mass market content hungry end sown up. Both Amazon and Apple have all the content that users want – where do the rest fit in? Can they offer anything different – and at an attractive price?

Of course Amazon will heavily subsidise the Fire – and possibly even lower the price – because they can afford to play this way. They will make back the money by attracting more buyers and also those wanting to stream music and movies.
